After having a challenging year last year, I feel that most students lost an interest in learning or are unaware of what a "normal" school year may look like. My goal is for my students to enjoy coming to school and find an enjoyment in learning. I am hoping that with these hands on centers, my students will be able to learn the skills they need to be successful in a fun and engaging way. Students learn more when they are having fun. If my students are engaged in these activities, they will learn more and want to learn more. I plan on using these materials as centers and for my small group instruction. Students will be able to work on learning the letters and numbers by using materials to build the numbers and letters they are working on. They will be be able to show their knowledge of these skills in small groups by playing the fun and engaging games, and can develop their critical thinking and engineering skill by using the variety of building materials during our STEM time. I am also hoping that these activities will help my students build those positive connections with each other that some of them desperately need.
