I plan to teach across the standards with this project. Students will read the Informational text and write news reports stating their learning. Students will be using what they learned to create projects to report on, so speaking and listening will be taught.
Science World will give my students the opportunity to learn about current research in the world of science. I expect my kids to be able to report like a scientist would after reading this non-fiction text.
Disaster and Survival Magazines will help to engage 21 Century readers to inform them about what happening in the weather and the impact it is having on our communities.
Time for Kids will allow all students to be engaged with non-fiction meaningful text. This will allow them to have meaningful coloration amount their peers.
