Literacy, math, and science materials will allow my students to explore learning with new and innovative materials. My students are drawn to interactive activities and hands-on learning. During class, we will use the math and literacy resources to help students understand basic concepts such as counting, number/letter/sight word identification, phonics skills, writing, and subitizing. The science materials will help to increase students' curiosity and build a foundation for these vital STEM areas that are difficult for families to incorporate at home. Learning through play-based activities and problem solving with others is the key to early childhood education. These materials and tools will help promote student growth in the following Nevada Academic Content Standards: K.CC.A1 Count to 100 by ones and by tens. (Number Activities) L.K.1.A Print many upper- and lowercase letters. RF.K.1.D Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet. K.CC.B.4.B Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted. K.SL.3 Ask and answer questions in order to seek help, get information, or clarify something that is not understood. (Science materials)
