For students who are struggling to learn how to read, the task of looking at flashcards or books is daunting. These materials will help make the process of learning how to read more interactive and fun! The Alphabet Folder Games and ABC Cookie Game will help my youngest students memorize the letters and sounds of the English alphabet. The Roll and Read Short Vowel Game will help my students just learning how to read practice three letter words. The Magnetic Portable Easel will allow my students to use magnetic letters to spell words, as well as provide a place to write word lists containing the spelling pattern we are practicing. My students will be able to practice foundational word study skills in a way that feels more like play than a chore! This will help me ease my students into a difficult task so that when it is time to practice reading in context, they will have gained the necessary skills to do so successfully!
