My students are deserving and loving, and I would love to provide them with high quality art materials to instill a sense of pride in their work. At the moment, my art classroom has only 10 bottles of tempera paint. While a good choice for Kinder through grade 2, these supplies will quickly run out this year, and my older kids need a more high quality option for their work. Acrylic is more opaque and geared towards more mature types of self expression. We also have a very sad supply of paint brushes, and the children can't properly learn good craftsmanship without some decent brushes. Since we are back in the classroom and they can work in small, controlled groups, I envision some larger group paintings that can enhance and enrich their daily lives at school. The teachers have graciously granted me the use of their bulletin boards to display work around the school. This brings joy and pride to our community and the value of learning as a group and working together.
