All of the books on this list are either anchor texts that drive instruction or supplemental texts that make it easier to understand concepts and themes presented in the anchor texts. Students often struggle with some of these texts so having physical copies will provide students with more scaffolded support. This is especially important considering many students are behind grade level as a result of the pandemic. Having physical copies of the books we read and discuss will enable students to analyze the texts in greater detail. In addition, the supplemental texts will allow students to dig deeper into the texts we read.

About my class
