Many of my students, at certain points during the year, become exempt due to COVID. During the time they are exempt I need to make copies of work that is necessary for their learning. If I do not have a working printer in my room it makes it difficult to get materials copied for them.
The two workbooks offer many ideas for math games that my students will be able to work on in productive groups. Working with hands-on material helps students gain a conceptual understanding of foundational skills necessary for moving on to the next grade level, as well as necessary for moving on the next concept in 4th grade. Interactive math games also build relationships as well as confidence for the students.
The printer will also be beneficial so I can print out students writing assignments. Students submit their informative, opinion, and narrative writing to me electronically, and then I print out their writing and am able to give them written feedback on their piece. This also allows me to print their writing so they can work with a classmate on peer editing.
ELA standards that will be addressed using the printer:
4W 1-3
Math standards that will be addressed using the math games workbooks:
4G A 1-3
4MD A1-3, B 4, C 5-7
