Students are using materials to create Multicultural Native American Dioramas. Students will be making villages to show what they have learned about the history, culture, and ethics of indigenous peoples. These supplies will allow students the ability to participate in an interactive hands-on project where they can learn about the history of tribes that were and still are around the United States. Students will be able to use these resources for Social Studies, Writing, and Math. These resources are beneficial because we will get to make many other projects throughout the school year that will promote student knowledge and engagement.
Struggling students will be able to express what they've learned by constructing visual representations which are less intimidating than writing essays, or just turning in a report.
Students who get to create diorama projects have more fun and begin to learn about history with enjoyment! Providing students with this opportunity is the perfect way to build on their understanding of certain topics. My students will love getting the ability to create these projects.
Nevada Academic Content Standards include SSM.5 W.5.10, and 5.G.A.
