My students are in grades 3-5 and have special needs. Each student is at their own level of independent learning. Some students are working close to grade level and others are far below grade level. While some are working on phonics, others are working on fluency or comprehension. In addition, many of our students continue to struggle with social emotional skills as a result of Covid-19.
It is imperative that my classroom is filled with a variety of resources ranging from Kindergarten level resources to fifth-grade resources. The students will be able to use the phonics and fluency games and activities to expand their reading skills. They will have access to a great book series that they are very interested in to practice their reading fluency and comprehension skills. The social emotional activities will be greatly beneficial for the kids to utilize, to enhance their social and emotional skills.
Students in grades 3 through 5 are expected to be able to read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension. It will be extremely helpful for students to have a variety of hands-on activities to work on each day, so they are better able to grasp new concepts and apply them to their grade-level curriculum to the best of their ability.
