As an Occupational Therapist in a high need area, I know that our school community is a safe space for many of our students, which is why I try to make our therapy sessions as fun and engaging as possible.
Utilizing an iPad during OT sessions will help my students learn using a multi-sensory approach which is vital in allowing my students to meet their goals and access their education. Utilizing the iPad will allow students to improve letter formation, emotional regulation skills, turn taking skills, as well as visual spatial skills. We will use specific apps and games to target these skills while enhancing the students ability to focus all while making the learning process more enjoyable.
The work we do in our therapy room helps our students build skills that will aid them in the classroom as well as far beyond the school setting. A new iPad will help target skills for students with all different learning styles so that they can achieve maximum success!
