This project will help students have resources at PE in many ways. To create a running track and track the amount of miles each student runs called Mile Club. This creates goal setting for each individual student and also gives incentives for working hard. Each student will receive awards for every 5 miles that they run. Students will also be able to participate in an after school Running Club. This would be for any students that want to improve running performance or any students that want to improve overall health and fitness. This will also help fund our Fitness Challenge which incorporates every student at the school. Each student will perform six different fitness challenges, once in the Fall and once in the Spring. We will then compare the results and see the improvements that were made for each student. Grades 3-5 create a goal sheet for each of the six challenges. The students write down real numbers of what they want their goal to be for each fitness activity. This creates individual accountability and also fosters competition within the groups.
