This school year I am teaching students at a Virtual Academy. These students are working to create portfolios they will use to apply for college or to learn the basics of how to create a portfolio to apply to college with. Overwhelmingly the students told me they do not have access to painting supplies or what they do have access to is too low quality to create pieces for a portfolio.
While the students have basic drawing supplies at home they do not have the necessary painting supplies. I have polled the students to see where their supplies interest are and all of the students expressed an interest in further learning how to use either watercolors or acrylic paint. One student specifically wants to learn how to use oil paint. While I have some of the basic supplies for oils as far as mediums and clean up goes I do not have the paint to share.
Overall due to the number of student's who have an interest in making work in an illustrative style I would like to purchase watercolors and acrylic paint so they can explore different illustration techniques and styles. I have one student who wants to explore oil paints specifically so I would like to get her a set of oil paint so she can learn how to use oils in her artwork. I also need brushes and painting surfaces for the oils and acrylics.
Supporting us would give each student supplies for at home for their chosen medium to be able to create a solid portfolio!
