I currently work at a STEM school that is also a Title 1 school. A lot of the students at my school can barely afford the few materials required for my class, a notebook and pencil. It is my goal to have class sets of technology for students to borrow for the class period.
In my engineering class we do a lot of basic and repetitive calculations. The majority of these calculations are conversion of feet and inches to decimal feet, calculation of room areas, and construction cost analysis. These calculations would be made easier and quicker with a simple calculator such as a TI-30.
