If my project is fully funded, I hope to improve the movement experiences of my students! Movement education has such an amazing connection to mental health. Right now, given the current situation in our world, our students need this more than ever. The link between physical fitness and mental health is a wonderful place for my students to create a "buy-in" for their participation. My goal is for students is to create positive learning spaces that are inclusive of all of my students, regardless of their current fitness level. Currently, my PE closet is in need of some upgrades to give my students the program that they need and deserve. Year after year, my students play volleyball with ripped balls. We need to do better. My ball pump was stolen during the covid school closure and it needs to be replaced. I would love to incorporate a parachute into my cooperative learning unit to help student with movement lessons geared toward working together. I would like to move my fitness unit forward by incorporating fitness balls at one of my stations. I think this would be a wonderful way for my students to work on their core and upper body strength without being intimidating. For our mass game days, I would love to have replacement bases to play indoor baseball and kickball. My students love large groups activities and these activities are challenging with using large gym mats instead of appropriate bases. I'm excited that you are considering ways in which you can help out my program! Thank you for you time.
