Pickleball is an alternative for older adults who previously played tennis, but have physical limitations such as shoulder, hip, knee, or other joint problems. Volleyball improves the upper body strength of the arms and shoulders. The thighs, abdominals, and lower legs are also strengthened. Volleyball also improves hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and balance.
Pickleball and Volleyball are sports that teach teamwork, communication, and is a great social activity for the young and old. In addition to the physical benefits of Pickleball and Volleyball, both of these sports are life-long and use a small amount of equipment to play that can be enjoyed most anywhere, whether it be at school or home. I am hoping to acquire rackets, nets, and balls to utilize in these sports.
