These materials will be used with small and whole groups to provide opportunities for students to interact with the guidance counselor. They will allow the students to foster growth in social activities and promote academic learning. The younger grades will use coloring pages and games. The older grades will enjoy coloring pages, games and puzzles. All lessons are designed with the goal of fostering the social skills of various aged students. The activities will be used to implement social scripts and interactions while providing an opportunity for students to grow and more successfully communicate. At times, they may also be used a reinforcement for good behavior.
These materials will provide opportunities for the student's to learn and socialize while taking needs breaks from the norms of academic rigors. Other skills such as fine motor skills or self regulatory skills may also be addressed.
