The need for volleyballs and a volleyball cart is at an extreme for my school. We have been without volleyballs for at least 3 years now. In the past few years I have been blessed with some P.E. equipment. I currently teach P.E. and Coach Varsity Volleyball. What I have noticed as a teacher and Coach is lots of students taking a huge interest in playing sports at the elementary level but do not have the fundamental skills to participate once they are between 5th & 6th grade. I've spoken with some students and parents who informed me that their previous schools "just didn't have it financially" or "didn't offer it". I have experienced both of those situations. These past few years, we just haven't had the resources to teach volleyball in the best manner. Some students have donated a ball or 2 but it hasn't been enough to truly teach the game successfully with practice in mind. Having 7 balls to teach over 50 students per class period has been a huge challenge. My goal is to be able to teach my students about the rules and skills of the game so that they may one day compete successfully. My students are super humble and have beautiful loving hearts. I love the joy physical education brings to them. I can see it all over their faces and how excited they are when they randomly see me and ask me "What are we going to learn today"? I would appreciate any donation that would go towards giving my super students a successful year learning more about volleyball and other sports that follow after.
