I am requesting a saltwater tank, circulation pump and life rock so my students can research and engage in Micro/Marine biology! I would like to give my Micro/Marine students a chance to learn about our oceans by setting up their own nano aquariums in the classroom! Students will be responsible to research and design an oceanic ecosystem to support marine life. This project will take an entire semester and will increase student engagement in the course! Students will start by cycling their tanks and conducting tests to understand water chemistry. After learning about water quality, students will then research and select which type of animals would best suit their environment. Throughout the semester, observations and data will be recorded and used to create a final project.
