We'll have music in our classroom every day. We'll be learning to note read, and practicing pitch and rhythm. Each of these color-coded tubes gives a different note when struck, adding a very visual component to the auditory learning. We'll be able to work together to play songs almost immediately! We'll also naturally and intuitively learn about the physics of sound--- it will make understanding concepts like sound waves, wavelength, and octaves easier. I want every child to know in their hearts that they ARE musical... and being able to play music themselves will accomplish that.
