As a Special Day Program teacher, I see the importance of sensory support for students with special needs. I am looking for ten wobbly stools, one for each of my students. These stools provide a way for students who have difficulty sitting still to engage in movement that does not disrupt the class. Many students need the ability to move around while they learn, and this can be distracting to other students if their movements make noise or involve moving around the classroom. Wobbly stools are a perfect solution because students can remain seated and wobble on them without making noise, thereby increasing their focus and engagement without affecting other students. My students currently sit in regular chairs and constantly move around, stand up and down, or fidget.
With this project I will create an equitable educational experience for my students that will support learning and engagement.
