Several of the students that I work with have different sensory needs. Some seek more sensory input and a weighted vest or a desk band to kick help alleviate sensory seeking behaviors that distract from the education that is occurring in the classroom.
Some of my students need more sensory input to focus, while others need less. Some of my students feel overwhelmed by too much input, especially loud noises. The use of ear muffs during loud times and in areas like the cafeteria or gym allow these students to be at ease and engage with their peers and the activities.
These items will help us serve each child and make it so they can all excel academically, socially, and emotionally.
