The texts we have chosen will help us model and explore strategies for tackling challenges and building community. Both fiction and nonfiction titles feature protagonists from diverse backgrounds and are written by award-winning authors and illustrators. Themes covered include empathy, building positive relationships, recognizing and managing emotions, problem-solving, perseverance, perspective-taking.
