These materials will be used to create a Maker Space area in our Stem Lab. Students with difficulties in critical thinking and problem solving skills can strengthen their abilities by creating hands on projects involving machines, buildings, inventions, etc.. Non typical learners, that struggle with staying focused in the regular classroom, can create hands on projects that will allow them more learning possibilities than working with pencils, paper and a textbook ever could. Students will be able to get a better picture of how things they have never seen look and work in the real world while also allowing for their own creative outlets to make it their own. Being able to work on projects that answer the big "How?", "What?" and "Why?" questions will hopefully encourage them to consider new possibilities for future careers one day too.
Help us increase academic achievement in this predominantly Native rural community by providing materials that will increase student attention and focus while exciting them about STEM and help them learn about new emerging STEM careers.
