In these trying time where education has changed drastically, us educators need the resources in order to make learning accessible for all. In order for my students to view what is being modeled for every lesson, I would need a document camera to display my teaching. Since students must be socially distant now, there is no place to come together and meet. Therefore, all teaching must be projected so everyone in the room can see it. Having a document camera will not only make learning accessible for all in the classroom, but if we have to go remote I can utilize this tool from home to best support my students.
Along with having a place to display my work on a larger scale, having a white board with lines to help teach handwriting and phonics will provide my students with the resources they need to be successful. Additionally, having an area in the room with the essential questions for each subject visible for all to see will provide my students with guidance and structure in what they will be learning each day and every week.
Lastly, a large unit we teach in second grade is telling time. In order to provide students with multiple ways to read time I would need a digital clock as well as an analogue clock so they can see the difference between the two. Having a digital clock will also benefit bathroom system greatly. Since they have yet to learn how to tell time and they need to know what time it is in order to sign out so they may use the bathroom. With your help, our class can become more equitable both in person and virtually.
