Most of our students at our school have never grown a plant in their lives. Here they have an opportunity to plant some fruit and vegetables. The best part is at the end when we have a big harvest of our crops. We have a big lunch in the special education rooms and invite everyone to try some of our healthy, home-grown food. In our gardening club, we have general education students and moderate/severe special education students work together. our school is in a low-income/high-need area and most of our students have never grown anything, let alone fruits and vegetables they can eat. Our inclusive school garden is a collaboration between our general education and moderate/severe special education classes. We will use these garden beds to replace our old broken ones.
