My special education students have more substantial needs academically, socially, and behaviorally. In order to meet their unique and individual needs, I create hands-on learning experiences that engage students through active learning, based on curriculum and the students' IEP goals and objectives.
Project examples include sensory bags, sensory bottles, filling the sensory table, providing fidgets, sensory calming items, movement items (hopper ball, balance beam, jumpers, scooters, climbing items), sound tubes and instruments, shaving cream, water beads, sand, texture carpet squares, mirror, and more.
We would greatly appreciate any help to create meaningful learning in the classroom that changes with our curriculum topics, months, seasons, and school themes. All students deserve the opportunity to actively play and engage in learning experiences which still learning and acquiring new knowledge, skills, and abilities.
