I teach in a low-income Title 1 school, where resources at home are sometimes scarce. The beautiful thing about Scholastic materials is that we use them at school with specific instruction in the field of science and social studies, and then at the end of the week, they will go home, into the HOME, where they can be used over and over again. They are shared with siblings and parents and the learning goes on and on!
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more! Scholastic News is one of their favorite things to read! They become so engaged in the bright fun stories and pictures that they forget they are 鈥渓earning!鈥 These materials are so helpful not just at getting material into kids鈥 hands, but materials that they are really interested in reading! Please help me give this gift to them!
