Our classroom recently had carpeting removed and was replaced with tile. This took away their soft place to sit and the ability to use our Velcro sit spots, which helped them know where to sit during large group time.
We gathered on the carpet several times daily for morning meetings, story time, lessons and center activities. We would like to have a big rug for a softer place to sit and to help with getting our meetings, lessons and story time started promptly.
The design of the rug gives each student an individualized spot plus additional room, if needed.
