Our school is a Title I which means over 70% of students qualify for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. I have diverse learners from a variety of backgrounds who need additional support. Although different, all of my students need to feel included. Middle school is challenging as students begin finding their way into the world and truly learning how to advocate and make decisions for themselves. Social and emotional health is vital and my goal is to provide a welcoming and loving environment where students feel comfortable to be themselves and grow into who they are meant to be.
Receiving these classroom basics will allow our students the ability to feel encouraged and supported during the return to in person learning. My goal is for my students to increase social skills, vocabulary and reading while engaging collaborative conversation and helping to develop their minds and thought processes to think and learn independently.
