The materials and supplies will be beneficial for my students as they will gain access to the tools that would promote academic success. The printer will allow me to print out learning materials such as work sheets and visuals that would allow students to demonstrate their content-based knowledge. The laminator and sheets would allow me to protect printed materials that students would use during academic learning and also to communicate their needs and request. I would utilize the Velcro in different areas of the classroom. The academic puzzles will serve the purpose of building on students fine motor skills while also identifying letters, numbers, shapes, colors, etc. Autistic students benefit from sensory input and they enjoy the texture of play dough, sensory balls, tubes, slime, foam, and many other sensory materials. In addition, the sensory materials also increases students fine motor skills as it also serves as a motivator.
With the rapid increase in Covid-19 cases it is very important that my classroom is carefully disinfected on a daily basis with the best cleaning supplies. A visual schedule plays a major role in keeping students in tune with their daily routine. The rolling cart will enable me to organize the materials my students and I would use throughout the day.
My goal as an educator is to ensure that every student is provided with an equal opportunity to learn. In order for me to provide my students equal access to learning I need the material and resources to make it possible.
