My classroom is a K-2 multi-age. I want to incorporate ways to help them meet sensory, focusing and calm down techniques.
My goal is to provide a stimulating rich environment for these kids. They are wonderful kids and need extra support but school systems do not always have the funds to do the extra motivations they need.
These children need ways to be stimulated in the classroom so their learning can be maximized. The swings will provide motion and security. The kids can use these to stimulate their need for movement while still learning the skills being taught. The sensory toys will be used as a way to focus their attention no matter how they are feeling. The sensory toys are portable and can go with them to different areas of the classroom, lunch room, recess, and places like art, music.
Using these tools will allow the kids to learn academic skills while meeting their sensory needs through motion and touch.
