Being organized and having their work posted on the walls will help students use their resources during group activities and their assessments. The books requested will continue to enhance students' reading abilities which will help them with writing and spelling. As a year and a half was missed, their reading and writing needs extra support in order to have students pass each standard. Having books in the classroom and other resources, like sticky pads for whole and small group activities, will help students' with their reading comprehension, asking questions, writing, and spelling. After each stage of comprehension, they will be able to organize their work on novels into the binders and help keep their items organized and resources in order, for them to refer back to.
These materials will teach students they have different tools to use when they need help; from looking around the class at anchor charts, to referring to an organized binder of material.
