With such a diverse group of students, I am compelled to reach every student and adapt to fit each student's needs. Small group instruction embedded with choice is imperative to reach my goal. The CAFE Book will give me a resource to learn how to best help students during their Daily 5, a program I was introduced to when my principal brought in author Gail Boushey during a professional development day. The TPT card will provide resources for students during this time.
To better support students returning to the classroom after a school year impacted by COVID, donations to this project with purchase supplies to teach science through hands-on projects and experiments. Students missed out on learning through hands-on exploration last school year, and I intend to use the soil, ornaments, gravel, and sand to help students physically see and touch scientific phenomenons such as erosions, engineering design projects, and plant growth.
Lastly, I need to print out pictures using colored ink and strategies involving colored paper to aid my English Learners in language acquisition. Using photographs and large graphics will help my English Learners understand concepts and build their background knowledge. With these resources, my students will have an engaging year with the projects and activities we were unable to complete last year!
