The goal of this project is to promote scientific investigation that begins within the classroom and continues at home beyond the course. Students will have the opportunity to be provided with a tangible product in the classroom, alongside investigative instruction on plant growth and care, with at the end can then take home and continue in their own garden or community garden. The materials I am requesting on behalf of my students include a growing rack, lights, watering system, and plant holders, that will begin the germination cycle of plants, growth requirements, and eventually the tools to continue the plant care at home.
With distance learning due to SARS-CoV-2 outbreak students were stuck at home often times isolated within a room, hours at a time for class instruction. This project is geared to allow student to return to the classroom after lockdown, with the intension to expand the classroom outside in their own garden or within the community garden.
