As a preschool teacher, I want to be able to offer the students learning centers. I want the students to be able to explore paint at the art center and gross motor movements at the music and movement center. The carpet squares can be used for individual and group learning that is interactive and takes the curriculum off the worksheet and into the classroom environment.
I would love to have a dramatic play center as well. I want the students to be able to practice by play. I want them to be able to pretend to cook in the kitchen and then pretend to wash dishes in the sink. I would love to see the children explore with their imagination while learning life skills and self-care.
I would also love sensory items such as a water table and/or sand table. I think that time to self-regulate with sensory is an important component of the school day and learning experience.
