By having these different materials/manipulatives, my students will be able to perform hands-on work with spelling different words and practicing different spelling patterns daily. By practicing daily, and having different activities for students to exercise their spelling knowledge, I believe they will have greater success, not only in spelling for weekly spelling tests, but also by retaining what they have learned, and being able to use the knowledge they have gained throughout the years. Aside from these resources to help students with spelling, students need other classroom resources, such as a storage bin to hold all of these new resources and make them easily accessible, privacy offices to maintain the integrity of tests, clipboards so students can work in different parts of the room, etc. I feel confident that by having these resources, my students will not only learn more, but will enjoy the learning process even more as well!
