My students are kids who love to ask questions and are always excited when it is time for new books to read! These book boxes allow for each student in my room to have an organized tool to store their books in our classroom so that they stay in great condition. First graders read high volumes of books to support their learning in phonics and literacy, and the Hefty bags we have been using are not very durable throughout the year and are very hard on our books. The students love selecting books that interest them and they take pride in taking good care of the physical books. These book boxes will allow our classroom library books to stay safer, and not bend up the book spines. The students also will be able to easily access their books since they are not having to share storage spaces with peers.
The book boxes I have selected not only help foster longevity of our reading materials, but also allow students to have a sense of pride and excitement when grabbing their book box and being able to see some of their book covers right away!
