I teach music in a Title I school where students have limited resources. The ukulele is easy to learn and provides an excellent foundation in understanding music. Providing students the ability to play the ukulele would build confidence in their music playing. In order to effectively teach the ukulele, our school will need a set of ukuleles.
I would like to teach the ukulele so that the students can feel empowered by having the ability to play an instrument. A ukulele has four strings as opposed to a guitar which has six strings and is lighter in weight. This makes the ukulele much easier to learn.
