I have recently found out that my district will begin with all virtual learning for at least the first nine weeks of school. My students and I are blessed to be part of a district that provides electronic devices to all students, but there are still some technology obstacles to navigate. During optional virtual learning in the spring, many of my students had difficulty hearing during video lessons. They were also shy to participate, and I had trouble hearing what they had to say. By providing each student with their own headphones with a microphone, they will be able to engage in live lessons more easily and effectively. In addition to struggling with participating in live video lessons, my students will also have difficulty with virtual independent practice activities. Click and drag activities are a large part of virtual practice activities and can be difficult to accomplish with a Chromebook trackpad. By providing each student with a rechargeable wireless mouse, they will be able to complete independent practice work without adding frustration to the students and a financial burden to parents of having to buy batteries constantly.
