Prien Lake Elementary is a French Immersion school, but the student population consists of different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our students are excited and eager to learn. Our second grade team is a group of dedicated teachers, and we work hard to ensure that students have a positive experience. Our goal is to provide students with the right support to help them succeed as they learn a second language.
Kids are naturally drawn to playing outside and there are numerous benefits of outdoor play: it allows them to explore their environment, develop muscle strength and coordination, and gain self-confidence. Playing actively outdoors also increases flexibility, fine and gross motor skills, and is related to the development of a wide variety of physical skills and social skills. This group鈥檚 kindergarten year was cut short due to school cancellations with Covid-19. Their first grade year didn鈥檛 start until October 23 due to two hurricanes, and then it was interrupted by a snow storm and excessive flooding. You can help our students have a variety of activities and equipment to use during their recess.
