This year, our school district will be using the Wit and Wisdom curriculum to teach reading. I am in need of additional resources to make this a success. Currently, the curriculum comes with teacher editions online and student books that are needed for the lessons. I would like to add some specific resources from Teachers Pay Teachers to help students have regular, prepared materials that guide the entire curriculum as I teach it daily in class. These materials include interactive power point presentations that can be used on the classroom Promethean boards and include all parts of all lessons and modules (literature, art, media, graphic organizers, questions, prompts, total participation techniques, etc.) They will be used by both teacher and students as structured, engaging, and interactive guides to lessons in class each day. In addition to loading lessons on the Promethean Board, students will also be able to use Chromebooks to complete lessons and activities in class and at home in the event of any quarantine or school closure related to COVID-19. Having familiar digital resources from in person class will help to ensure a seamless transition to and from distance learning if that should be necessary at any point this year. Lastly, I will need an efficient color printer so that I can print "focus wall" anchor charts from these Wit and Wisdom lessons on Teachers Pay Teachers so that my students can reference and interact visually with the specific goals and strategies that are taught and built upon in this curriculum over the course of the year. If this project is fully funded, I will be able to provide continuous, quality reading instruction using our new curriculum for a full year in any setting or situation (in person or virtual).
