Support Ms. Duerksen's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
As a new teacher (with an empty classroom and a small budget) I'm focused on creating the VERY best learning environment for my diverse students.
I want each child and family to feel safe, welcomed, and loved in my classroom ... building a space to create the opportunity for collaborative learning and reading is a great start to this! I dream of starting each day on the carpet and creating a morning routine that welcomes conversations and builds a community of kindness in my classroom. During literacy development allowing students, the opportunity of choice provided by displaying the book on the shelves that coordinate with our current curriculum module will support and grow student knowledge in our standards' goals.
These bookshelves will not be empty --I have been generously gifted books from other teachers that have retired, but we need a space to display all that these books have to offer. The bookcases on my wish list will do just that!
I'm excited to begin the year and I know there are 26 Kindergarten students who are ready to begin to see how wonderful our world is through literacy and learning. Please help me begin their road to success!
