During COVID my students were learning math through the computer, I couldn't tell if they were working out the problems. The students came back to campus around October of 2020 and I started to see who was working out the problems in their head and who would secretly pull out a calculator to their math. We are moving into the technology world but for math, we still need a simple piece of paper and a pencil for students to work out problems.
Some of my students will not be able to afford school supplies but for now, a composition notebook and pencils are needed for them to practice their critical thinking skills.
