I will use these reading and math learning games to help my special education students sharpen their skills and close gaps in their learning through small group instruction, independent practice, and peer collaboration. They will also work on their social and emotional skills by taking turns, sharing, and using their communication skills through educational play. Some of my students have academic, social and emotional, and communication needs that I work closely with them to address these needs through their own Individualized Education Plan. Having these learning games will give them a chance to learn and have fun at the same time.
Students need to spend time working on academic skills as well social skills. These activities will give me a chance to help my students gain confidence as they work through problems on their own and with a small group. These learning games will help my students to meet their individual goals and therefore be more able to work at the same level as their general education peers. I want them to know they can work through any problems whether academically or socially and be well rounded students.
