The requested books and learning center items will allow my students to learn in the most hands-on, meaningful way. My students will have the opportunity to have physical books in their hands while lounging in our library center. The requested books are leveled readers that students can choose that will best match their reading levels. As students grow in their reading abilities, they can then move up in levels. With the math centers and the literacy centers, my kindergarten students will be able to engage in and practice skills at their own individual levels. They will have the opportunity to use these centers in small group sessions with me, in groups with their peers, and individually amongst themselves.
Not only are learning centers fun and engaging, they will help my students gain a better understanding of the foundational skills and that they are learning in the classroom.
My students will also have the opportunity to have moments of enrichment to further extend the concepts that they have previously learned throughout the school year as well.
