Reading The Hate U Give totally changed the way I look at current events in our country. It allowed me to see what life could be like for people of color. I want my students to have that same opportunity. I only have one copy of this book, so my students can't follow along while I read and are not able to go back and reread passages for themselves. I would like to be able to give each student his/her own copy to read. We have had some very good classroom discussions and I would like for them to be able to support their thoughts with evidence from the book.
