My struggling readers are students who want to experience the joy of reading. Yet this joy eludes them mostly because English is not their primary language. Trying to decode words and read fluently when you only hear those words when you in school presents a very difficult challenge. This challenge often leads to them being so frustrated that they give up on ever learning to read.
