Being in what can be described as "the middle of nowhere," I want to equip my students and help them build possibilities for their futures. I have students interested in engineering; I want to provide them with a purposeful way to learn AutoCAD or Tinkercad and see their projects come to life. I have students interested in business; a 3D printer can provide a unique reproducible product. My students also have a heart for others, and we would like to use the 3D printer to create a needed item for others or a profit to be used for service projects.
My students should be able to see possibilities from multiple perspectives; a 3D printer will allow them a chance to explore and create opportunities that aren't always options in our rural area. As we become proficient, we want to expand and share our knowledge with other student groups throughout our school districts. Collaborating and creating more possibilities for all students.
