Students with exceptional needs should be given equal opportunities to experience literacy and math activities with hands-on materials that develop their knowledge of the world around them. In order to provide them with rich learning moments, they need accessible materials that will keep them engaged and address a variety of learning styles. In order to help them show their knowledge, they need to be given a chance to learn. I am excited to watch them develop necessary problem solving skills to learn beginning phonics and how to solve problems using manipulatives.
