I am requesting two new computer monitors to further my students' success in our Business Education program. These monitors will not only update the technology utilized in our Business Education program but they will act as replacements for several units that were damaged beyond repair at the beginning of this school year due to our computer lab relocating to a new building.
As a result of that damage our students have been forced to double up during classes and share computers to complete their assignments. The donation of these new monitors will help cut the cost of replacing our damaged computers and will ensure that each student has access to their own computer next year.
By donating to our project, you will be providing our students with access to their own individual computer which will increase their academic achievement and prepare them for success after high school. The students in my classroom are enrolled in courses that are strategically aligned with our local vocational school, this allows them to develop a foundation necessary for success should they choose to follow that career path.
Students will use these monitors to gain experience in Microsoft Office, Adobe, keyboarding, 10-Key and Personal Financial Literacy. Students are also introduced to college and career readiness through certain assessments, college research, filling out job applications and developing resumes.
In this day and time, technology is vastly important to the success of our students. This project will assist in nurturing that growth and add to their overall success in and outside of the classroom.
